The Challenge

The Click approached us with a challenge rooted not in what they do, but how they think.

They didn’t want a film that just showcased portfolios or design aesthetics. They wanted to go deeper — to communicate the ideas behind the identities. To explore how their work changes the way clients see themselves. How good design, when done right, goes far beyond the visual.

Rather than crafting a piece about The Click, the proposal evolved into something more honest: a short documentary where the studio would step back — and let their clients do the talking.

Our Approach

From the outset, Ideas with Identities was designed to feel more like a story than a sales pitch — something closer to a book than a brochure. The structure is deliberate: three chapters — The Challenge, The Process, The Result — each one exploring a different facet of what it means to build a brand with purpose.

We wanted to move away from traditional agency films that simply showcase “the work.” Instead, we focused on the relationships and thinking that drive it — allowing The Click’s clients to speak honestly about the journey they took together.

To reflect this narrative tone, we captured interviews using static, carefully composed frames, with cinematic lighting that gave the space time to breathe. Each voice is given its own chapter, its own rhythm, its own place in the larger arc.

The visual style supports this slow storytelling — until it doesn’t. As we transition from reflection to real-world action, the pace changes. We shift into handheld footage, faster edits, and ambient textures that reflect each brand in motion. These aren’t just ideas on paper — they’re living, evolving identities.

Split screens and graphics added visual rhythm, while sound design and music subtly shifted with each part of the story. We avoided literal storytelling in favour of something more interpretive — something that asked the viewer to feel the identity of each brand, not just see it.

“This film did what no website, pitch deck, or post ever could. It hooked you from frame one. Made you feel. Made you care. Raw stories, real emotions, genuine truth.”

Production Highlights

Filming took place on location across Norfolk, including Holkham Hall, Bread Source, Unite HQ, and other working environments connected to The Click’s clients. Each space was chosen for what it revealed — not just about the brand, but about the people behind it.

We leaned into contrast as a creative tool. Interviews were static, grounded, and composed — captured on tripods with soft, controlled lighting to let words take the lead. But when we entered the world of each brand, everything changed. The camera went handheld. The pace quickened. Moments unfolded naturally, with all the unpredictability of real life.

This dual approach helped us show — not tell — that brand identity isn’t something created in a vacuum. It grows, shifts, and takes shape in the hands of real people doing real work.

Motion graphics and brand assets were integrated with a light touch, serving to highlight rather than explain — helping the audience sense the identity of each brand, not just see it.

The Outcome

Ideas with Identities quickly became a defining piece of content for The Click — not just in how it looks, but in what it says. The film launched on The Click’s LinkedIn and website in early 2024 and was shared as:

“A short film that tries to capture how we work, what we believe, and why ideas always come first.”

In Bobby’s own words, it was about:

“Real voices, real relationships and a behind-the-scenes glimpse into our work with Holkham, Bread Source, Brandland and Unite.”

The reception was immediate and organic, with clients, peers and fellow creatives praising its quiet confidence, the balance of story and craft, and the sense that it revealed something genuine about how The Click works. It sparked conversations online, and gave The Click a new way to talk about what sets them apart — not just the outcomes, but the thinking behind them.

The film is now used regularly in new business conversations and continues to serve as both a calling card and a creative benchmark — a piece that feels unmistakably them.

“For us, this film has been hugely successful in communicating to prospective clients what it is we do. And it was all created without our input – the work does the talking.”

More than a brand film, Ideas with Identities has become a kind of creative manifesto — a visual expression of how good design begins with a great idea.
